Spicy Bulgur (Groats)
It’s a middle eastern dish, rich in fiber and ideal for vegan. All the family will love this easy and cheap meal made with few ingredients and only one pot.

Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 Small Onion Chopped
- 4 Medium Tomatoes Chopped
- 1 cup White Bulgur (Groats)
- 1 tsp Tomato Paste
- ¼ tsp Paprika
- ½ tsp Salt
- ¼ tsp Red Hot Pepper
- Water
Instructions
- In a pot, add the oil and the onion
- When the onion start softening, add the tomatoes and mix them from time to time for about 5 mins
- After washing the groats add them to the mixture, mix everything well then 2 cups of water
- Add the tomato paste, the salt, the paprika and the hot red pepper
- Mix well and wait until it starts boiling then you can cover the pot, low the heat, and cook everything for about 10 mins or until there is no more water in the pot
Notes
Our Cooking Hints:
- If you are not a fan of spicy food, you can cook this dish without hot red pepper
- If you are not vegan, the spicy bulgur is more enjoyable with yogurt
