Beef Stroganoff
A French chef who worked for a wealthy St. Petersburg family created the dish for a cooking contest in 1891. Following the Russian custom of the day, he named the prize-winning dish for his employer, Count Pavel Alexandrovich Stroganov. In this post we will guide you through this easy beef stroganoff recipe, to obtain results that will blow you away!
Equipment
- A Large Oven Pan
Ingredients
- 600 grams Beef Sliced in strips
- 500 mL Cooking Cream
- 250 grams Mushrooms Sliced
- 1 medium Onion
- 1 tbsp Mustard
- 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Meat Bouillon Cube
- 1 pinch Pepper
- 1 pinch Herbs Of Provence
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 150 mL Water
Instructions
- Start by preheating your oven at 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit)
- Start by slicing the onion into small pieces
- Then, in a big pan (suitable for ovens) on medium heat, add the butter and when it melts, add the sliced onion
- Now ,stir frequently until it melts, and add the meat while frequently stirring
- When the meat starts changing color due to cooking, add the mushrooms and continue stirring from time to time
- Now when the mushrooms start melting, add the mustard, the bouillon cube, the water, the soy sauce and mix very well
- Then, add the cooking cream, pepper, the herbs and mix very well
- And stir from time to time until the cream starts boiling
- Afterwards, put the pan away from the heat and put it in the oven for about 20 mins
- Finally, remove your plate from the oven and you’re done!
Notes
Our Cooking Hints:
- You can replace soy sauce with salt
- Feel free to add wine to the mixture, it’s a matter of taste
- This is best served along rice with dried grapes!
