Fried Chicken
Fried Chicken is very popular worldwide. We show you through this recipe how to make your very own pieces! Crunchy and well cooked, better than KFC!
Equipment
- Fryer (Or large pot)
- Strainer
- Whisk
- 3 Mixing Bowls
- 1 Large Bowl
Ingredients
- 800 grams Chicken Breast or Drumsticks Drumsticks will result in a better result
- 1 tbsp Salt
- 1.5 L Cooking Oil
First coat (Dry)
- 2 cups Flour T55-T65
Second coat (Wet)
- 3 Eggs
- 320 mL Sparkling Water
- 1 cup Flour T55-T65
Third coat (Dry)
- 3 cups Flour T55-T65
- ½ tbsp Ground Thyme
- ½ tbsp Dry Mustard
- ¼ tsp Dry Basil
- 2 tbsp Paprika
- 1 tbsp White Pepper
- ½ tbsp Ground Ginger
- 1 tbsp Celery Salt
- 1 tbsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tbsp Onion Powder
- 1 tbsp Salt
- ¼ tbsp Oregano
- 1 tbsp Black Pepper
- 1 tbsp Chicken Shawarma Spices (our personal touch)
Instructions
- Cut your chicken breast into large pieces (each half breast should give you 3 pieces) – For drumsticks, you can keep them as is
- Place them in a large bowl and let them sit for 15 mins
- Sprinkle them with salt and mix very well. Let them sit for 15 more minutes
- In a first mixing bowl, place the 2 cups of flour
- In a second mixing bowl, place in the following order, the eggs (Whisk well), the sparkling water and the flour
- In the third mixing bowl, place the 3 cups of flour and all the spices and whisk very well (make sure to use a dry whisk)
- Heat your cooking oil in a large and deep pot or in the fryer, at 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit)
- Once the oil has reached its temperature, take a first piece, dip it in the first bowl, making sure it gets completely covered in flour
- Dip it in the second bowl, then in the third bowl and make sure the flour and spices completely cover your piece of chicken breast
- Place it in the oil and repeat the same process for 3-4 additional pieces
- Do not put more than 5 pieces in your cooking oil to avoid a temperature drop
- Let them cook for 20 minutes, until golden brown and cooked from the inside
- Remove your cooked fried chicken and place them on an absorbing napkin sheet. Use a strainer to remove the small pieces from your cooking oil
- Repeat for the remaining pieces
- Enjoy some homemade, crunchy, tasty and delicious fried chicken!

Our Cooking Hints
- Serve on the side with a burger bun, chopped cabbage and carrots with mayo and fries for an amazing experience
- You can place the remaining cooked ones left over in the fridge for the next day, and warm them in the oven (They might be less crunchy)
