Homemade Burger Buns
Homemade burger buns are easy to make with our recipe. You will not only be guaranteed to success, but you will also never buy them again! The taste is much richer!
Equipment
- Mixing Bowl
- Baking Tray
- Brush
- Parchment Paper
Ingredients
- 400 Grams All Purpose Wheat Flour T55 – T65
- 100 Grams Whole Wheat Flour T80
- 10 Grams Sugar
- 10 Grams Salt
- 240 mL Milk Full Fat
- 7 Grams Instant Yeast
- 100 Grams Margarine or Butter Melted
- 3 Eggs
- 1 Cup Sesame Seeds Raw
Instructions
- Delay the yeast in the milk for about 10 minutes, until it activates
- Add to the it the melted butter, 2 beaten eggs and mix well
- In the mixing bowl, add your flour, salt, sugar and mix well
- Add your wet mixture (milk, yeast, butter and eggs) to the mixing bowl and mix everything well until the dough is formed
- Knead the dough for about 10 minutes then cover it and let it rest for about 2 hours or until it doubles in volume
- Lightly flour your work surface, place on it your dough and chase away the air bubbles
- Divide the dough into 6 equal parts
- Flatten gently each part and fold the extremities to the center, before rolling it using the palm of your hand to form a ball
- Place each ball on a parchment paper over a baking tray and gently flatten them (not completely) with the palm of your hand
- Cover them and let them double in volume
- Preheat your oven at 180 degrees Celsius (356 degrees Fahrenheit)
- Once your precooked buns have doubled in volume, brush them with a beaten egg mixture to which you will have added a pinch of salt
- Generously spread sesame seeds over our buns and cook them for about 12-15 minutes with convection on, with your oven grid in the middle. Allow them to cool on a cooling grid.
Notes
Our Cooking Hints:
- You can use different seeds for your burgers
- It’s best to preserve them using Ziplock bags for up to 2 days
- Margarine is the best option for a lighter bun
