Nammoura
Nammoura is a typical lebanese sweet cake called Basbousa in Egypt, which is delightful and very easy to make. It is a delicacy that will quickly become one of your favorite desserts.
Equipment
- A large baking tray
- Mixing Bowl
Ingredients
- 3 cups Semolina
- 1½ cup Sugar
- 2 cups Laban
- 100 g Butter
- 2 tbsp Baking powder
- 5 g Sugar Vanillin
- 1 packet Miska
- ¼ cup Almonds
- 1 cup Our special syrup (check its recipe here)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl add the semolina, the sugar, the vanille, the baking powder and the miska then mix them very well
- Melt the butter using a microwave
- Make a hole in the middle of the mixture and add the laban and the melted butter
- Mix everything very well
- Let your mixture rest for about 3 h
- Put your mixture in the baking tray, add the almonds and bake it for about 40 mins at 180 degrees celsius
- Cut the Nammoura into small cubes or diamonds then add the syrop
Notes
Our Cooking Hints:
- You can replace almonds with peanuts
- You can use brown or white sugar and same for the syrup
- Serve once it has cooled downÂ
