Peas, carrots and meat with rice
Peas, carrots and meat with rice is a Lebanese family plate, loved by all the kids. Simple, cheap and easy to prepare, it is extremely healthy and will become one of your favorites!
Equipment
- A large pot
- A small pot
- A wooden spoon
Ingredients
- 1 Onion Cut into small cubes
- 250 grams Meat Hashed or cut it into cubes
- 1 tsp Butter
- 4 Carrots Cut into cubes or round shapes
- 400 grams Peas Fresh or frozen
- 1 tbsp Tomato paste
- 1 tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Pepper
- ½ Liter Water
Instructions
- In a large pot, at medium heat, melt your butter
- Add the onion to your put and cook them for about 2 mns
- Add the meat to the pot and cook them for about 5 mns
- Add the carrots and the peas then mix them with the meat and onion
- Add the water, the tomato paste, the salt and the pepper then mix everything very well
- Once your mixture start boiling, lower the heat and cook everything for about 20 mins (for frozen peas) and 40 mins (for fresh peas)
- Once cooked, serve along rice and vermicelli for a traditional taste

- Serve your plate hot, as it will result in the best taste
- You can add garlic cloves and tomatoes to the meat and onion mixture before adding the peas and carrots
