Oat Pancakes

Oat Pancakes can be made either from oat flour or instant oats. This very healthy and nutritious recipe is ideal for a well balanced breakfast!

Equipment

  • 2 Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Pan
  • Blender or Grinder (if using instant oats)
  • Flat Wooden Spatula

Ingredients
  

  • 150 grams Oat Flour (or 200 grams Instant Oats)
  • 175 mL Milk Low Fat
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon Ground
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Butter (For your pan)

Instructions
 

  • In the first mixing bowl, add flour (or crushed instant oats), baking powder, cinnamon, salt and whisk well
  • In the second mixing bowl, add the egg, milk, vanilla extract and whisk well
  • Pour the mixture of the second bowl into the first, mix very well and let it sit for 10 minutes
  • In a pan on medium to high heat, add the butter until it melts and cover the whole area
  • Using a ladle, take one portion of the mixture and pour it in the center. You can also place all the mixture in a measuring cup and simply pour in the center of the pan
  • Let it cook for about 45 seconds up to a minute until bubbles start forming and flip it to the other side
  • Cook it on the other side for the same amount of time, until golden in color
  • Repeat for the remaining pancakes and enjoy!

Notes

Our Cooking Hints
  • You can add a banana to the mixture for some additional sweetness
  • A great topping to go with those pancakes can be butter with marple syrup (or honey) along with some fresh berries
  • For a vegan version, replace the milk with almond milk and the egg with an equivalent vegan substitute
