Panna Cotta

This dessert finds it origin in Italy. Its creaminess along with red fruits match perfectly for a refreshing and satisfying dessert. In this easy recipe, we show you step by step how to do your very own red fruits panna cotta.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 mL Cream Low or Full Fat
  • 1 pod Vanilla
  • 2 Gelatin Sheets Each of 2 grams
  • 20 grams Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 200 grams Red Fruits Cherries, Raspberries, Blackberries and Strawberries

  • Medium Bowl
  • Blender

Method
 

  1. Put the gelatin sheet in a big bowl of cold water
  2. Pour half of the cream in a pot
  3. Cut the vanilla pod in the middle and add its with its grains in the pot
  4. Turn on a medium heat under the pot and add the sugar
  5. Keep stirring frequently until the milk simmers and reduce the heat to low
  6. Remove the gelatin sheet from its water and squeeze it very well before tossing it in the pot
  7. Mix everything very well until you get something homogeneous and remove your pot from the heat
  8. Pour the rest of the cream in the pot and stir very well
  9. Pour the cream evenly in 4 different ice cream glasses or bowls and put them on a cooling rack
  10. Meanwhile, put the red fruits with the lemon juice in a blender and turn it on to obtain a purée
  11. Pour the purée in a separate bowl then in the fridge
  12. After 15 minutes, your cream glasses should have cooled down, so put them in the fridge
  13. After 2 to 3 hours, the gelatin should have made the cream firm and you can thus proceed to add the red fruits purée on top
  14. You can now eat your deliciously homemade red fruits panna cotta!

Notes

Our Cooking Hints:

  • Feel free to replace red fruits with strawberries
  • You can use frozen fruits but make sure to put them in the fridge a night before to soften them, as well as on a strainer to drain from the excess of water
  • Use 1 gelatin sheet if you like it with a softer texture
