Rice and vermicelli
Rice and vermicelli is the base of many Lebanese traditional and healthy dishes. Easy to prepare, we show you in this very short video the perfect recipe for a wonderful taste!

- ⅓ Cup Vermicelli
- 1 Cup Basmati Rice
- 2 Cups Water
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tbsp Butter
Wash your Basmati rice and place it in a strainer
In your pot on medium heat, add the butter and stir it well all over the surface until it completely melts
Add the vermicelli and stir frequently until they start changing color
Add the previously washed Basmati rice and stir well for a little less than a minute
Add your water and stir for 15-20 seconds
Add salt and stir for another 15-20 seconds
Reduce heat to minimal and wait for the water to start boiling
Once water starts boiling, cover with a lid and cook until it completely evaporates (8-12 mins)
Done! Serve along any of your favorite Lebanese or Oriental traditional dishes.
Our Cooking Hints
- You can keep some of the cooked vermicelli on the side before adding the Basmati rice, and sprinkle them with sugar for a later on dessert
- You can use American rice if you prefer a firmer texture
